The short version
Attune has no accounts and no servers of ours. What you write stays on your phone. We do not collect, store, or receive your check-ins, journal entries, or health data. There is no Attune server for them to go to.
What stays on you
Everything you create in Attune is written to your own device and stays there: Check-ins, feelings, energy, body notes, context, journal entries, talk entries, history, records, and personalization.
Device storage
Attune works fully offline. None of this is transmitted to us, because we operate no servers that could receive it. It is held locally on your phone and stays inside the application storage. Attune's widgets show a small part of your day, such as your latest check-in word and your to-dos; this is shared only between the app and its own widgets on your device. About once a day, Attune asks the App Store whether a newer version exists. That request carries the app's identifier only and nothing about you.
iCloud backup (opt)
If you turn on iCloud backup, Attune copies your data to your own private iCloud account. It is stored under your Apple Account and governed by Apple's privacy policy. We cannot see it, access it, or retrieve it. Turning the setting off stops further syncing throughout the app experience.
Apple Health info
If you grant permission, Attune reads signals like sleep, steps, active energy, and mindful minutes for context. Attune can also write your check-ins to Apple Health as State of Mind. This data is read on your device and never leaves it. It is never used for advertising and can be revoked anytime in iOS Health.
Weather/Loc
If you enable weather context, Attune uses your approximate location with Apple's WeatherKit to fetch current conditions. Your location is used on your device to make that request. It is not stored by us or shared with anyone else at any time.
Photos, video and voice
If you attach a photo, a video, or a moment from Journaling Suggestions to an entry, it is stored inside Attune on your device. Attune does not upload these or scan their contents. If you record a voice memo, Attune uses your microphone only while you are recording. The recording is saved inside Attune on your device, beside the entry it belongs to. It is not uploaded, transcribed, or shared, and deleting your data in Settings removes it. Everything remains local to your hardware.
Suggestions and Reminders
Attune receives only the single moment you choose from Apple's Journaling Suggestions. Reminders are scheduled as gentle local notifications on your device. Nothing about these choices or signals is sent to us. On-device readings via Apple Intelligence stay on-device and are never uploaded.
Purchases and gifts
Payment is handled entirely by Apple. Purchases are made through the App Store and tied to your Apple Account. No purchase-management service sits in between, and we never see your payment details.
What Attune does not do
No accounts or profiles. No analytics or usage tracking. No advertising or ad networks. No third-party trackers. No selling or sharing of data. No training of any model on your writing ever.
